Dishonesty

I am a frequent shopper at the ShopRite supermarket located at Bruckner Blvd Bronx NY 10473. I have a ShopRite card from the first day this supermarket opened.
In March 2026, I had enough points to qualify for a free ham, I did not take the free ham at that time. When I went back to the store , the next week, to buy groceries, I asked for the free ham. I was told by the cashier that I had already taken the free ham. I told the cashier that I did not.
The cashier insisted that I took the ham.
Firstly, thank God I can afford to buy a ham/s, however , I have to report this matter because the cashiers at this store seem to have something very wrong with their systems and with honesty. Why would I say I didn't get a ham if I did.
I was never given the free ham.
I am very disappointed with the professionalism of Shoprite and their honesty. I am waiting for the BJs to open up because I will try not to shop at ShopRite, the dishonesty of cashiers and managers is too much to take.

Vegs and fruit are below par

Every single time I buy fruit or vegs at shoprite in wall township NJ it is either bad or goes bad in a day. Same goes for their meat I bought a london broil and marinated it and we cooked it on the grill.
we threw it away. I have medicare benefits and it seems I cant use it anywhere else but Shoprite or Walmart.
Both below average as far as quality is. shop at Trader Joes eat less and go to the butcher.

Poor customer service

I went to the self-checkout at the Shoprite in Garnerville, NY. Every time this one employee is at the self-checkout lanes she gives me a hard time, and today was no different.
My mother put her pocketbook on the bagging counter which caused an error. I told my mother don't put your bag there to which this empolyee told me not to yell at her (which I did not do).
The employee and I exchanged some words and then I proceeded to curse her out. I am upset at myself for losing my temper but this was a long time in coming.Don

- - In Scarsdale, NY, one employee closes most self-checkouts by 11 pm, causing long waits; there is a rodent problem and ongoing renovations.
July 11 and 12, 2025. There is one particular employee that closes all but two self check outs at 11pm when the store does not close until 12 midnight.
This leads to a half an hour on average to use a self check out. There are no regular registers open as well . This is the Scarsdale NY store and only one employee that does this . Other employees on other nights leave five or six registers open until closing and actually offer assistance to shoppers.
The store also has a rodent problem and has been under renovation for the last year with construction workers doing overhead work while customers are trying to shop. Whoever the store manager is, needs to be replaced with someone that knows how to run a store . This place is disgusting all the way around.

Yet you still continue to shop there at the height of that well known busy time of 11 pm on a Friday and Saturday night. Dodging the rats in the aisle not concerned about food safety at all.

Ive been shopping at ShopRite in Moosic Pa since they opened they have a young girl named Heather working their self checkout she is amazing not only is she very helpful and friendly she keeps it going smoothly the breakfast sandwich I buy every morning sets alarms off which makes me feel uncomfortable she fixes it and jokes about it she always engages with her customers even the ones who are rude to her she is extremely good at what she does and should be recognized
So good job Heather keep smiling you always make my day brighter

Complaint about not getting rain check when there was no meat for reason of power outage
I feel that if there was an issue with power they should give rain checks for items that arent in display cases including 3 day sale items.
User's recommendation: My recommendation to customers is that if enough people call and complain we might get what we want from these stores and situations.
Power outage, that's out of their control. Why not call the power company and ask them to pay for your meat. See that were that gets you.

Customer service is horrid , they seem to think customers works for them, telling customers what they cannot cannot do and forget about management helping , the managers are ruder than the associates

I went to ShopRite in Uniondale, NY, and asked for cold cuts to be cut extra thin. However, the Spanish lady at the counter argued with me, saying she couldn't cut them thin because her job is in the back kitchen.
She was alone and refused to help me. Her manager got involved and explained the situation. However, the manager told me not to tell her what to do! The manager was ruder than the Spanish lady at the deli counter who was overwhelmed because she was by herself with one customer in line - which was me.
The Spanish lady continued to argue with me even though I was talking to the manager who was annoyed that he had to come out of his office. The manager responded to my complaint about him by saying, 'Go ahead, they won't listen to you. Leave my store; I refuse to serve you.' This was the manager's response, spoken right in front of his associates.
What wonderful service ShopRite in Uniondale has! (Sarcastic)

There is service and then there is service par excellence! This is a prime example-there have been others(we have reached out before)-of why we shop the New Hyde Park ShopRite.
Ordered and paid for delivery for my 92 year old Mom and never received it
- - Delivery was scheduled 6-8 pm from the Hillsdale store but did not arrive.
- - Calls for over 30 minutes went unanswered.
My 92 year old mother was supposed to get a delivery between 6 and 8 pm tonight and it never arrived from the Hillsdale store. I have been calling the location for over a half hour to no avail. Either the phones are not working or no one is answering.
